Hallelujah!!

Pediatrician appointments last Thursday confirmed it... Yep, My kids are growing up!
Ryker is a whopping 16 lbs!! and 25 inches! We also got the green light to start food! So today I broke out the high chair and we had some rice cereal tonight before bed!

Hmmm, Can't decide if I like it...
Ok, It's pretty good...

Am I done now??

Now, Peyton, Peyton, Peyton...
38 lbs!! and 38 inches!
There is no reason my (almost) 3 year old shouldn't be potty trained! We have been having the struggle of our lives with that kid! He was adamant that he was going to stay in diapers and that he is still a baby... So it was time for some "tough love!"
I had about 10 diapers left, and I decided I am not spending another $40 at Costco on a case of diapers... So I had a long talk with Peyton yesterday and told him he was almost out of diapers! (oh no!) and that it was the same price for a new TENT from Costco as a box of diapers...(something to think about...)

We had another long talk today, and then we went to Target and bought Handy Manny underwear (Peyton's choice) and a Mickey Mouse Pez. We watched Elmo's Potty Time and then Hallelujah!
Peyton actually wanted to use the potty! He just sat down and pee'd! Holy crap! (get the pun?)
He stood up and said "look mom! Look at what I did!" "Can I have my Pez now?"
And mom and son hugged it out!
Then before bed, Peyton said to me "mom are you so happy and proud of me?" "Um, yea! This is like the happiest day of my life kid!"

Remember when...

This is what Peyton thinks the piano is for, Building a cave. Why does he always want to sleep on the floor?

This is really turning into an odd habit!?!? It can't be comfortable...
Ryker is growing up so fast! What happened to my little baby? Look at this chunker! 4 months old now.

Ryker now skips one feeding at night! :)
If you had told me 5 years ago that I would be thankful for 6 uninterrupted hours of sleep, I would have thought you were crazy! Yet 2 kids later, it seems like a blessing...

I have a severe type A personality, so it has been killing me that I constantly have piles and piles of either dirty -or clean and unfolded laundry!

I am convinced that you could start a "Toys R Us" store just from the leftover toys that line my stairs and that I find stashed in random places like my kitchen cupboards at night when I am (attempting) to clean up!

Before I had Peyton I promised myself that MY KIDS would never throw those annoying tantrums in restaurants and grocery stores.... Ha ha! How naive was I ???

Remember when the only thing you would find under your couch cushions was a few quarters? And you were thrilled to have the extra $ ?
Now I remove them often to find old raisins, crushed cereal, my wedding ring, and the occasional toy! Yup, I'm definitely a mom...

And, are you ever super jealous of your husband because he gets to take an uninterrupted (longer than 2.5 minutes) shower??? (And Mark wonders why my legs are never shaved...)

Remember when you got to eat meals sitting down?! And have a phone conversation with a girlfriend without constantly apologizing for your screaming kids in the background and her doing the same?

And lastly... Remember when breasts were sexy? Now they're just a way to get the baby to stop crying! I never thought my baby would see me topless more often than my husband!

So remember my honest scrap? How I don't remember how to play the piano?? So my mother (a piano teacher with many piano's of her own...) gave us a piano! It's really pretty in the living room, however I have 2 boys, so I fear it will be destroyed! My mother also bought me an easy children primary song book and a "I used to play the piano" book. And I will admit it has been fun to try and play the piano again, and Peyton has enjoyed my (one handed) rendition of "popcorn popping on the apricot tree"

Do you also remember the - oh so fun - morning when Peyton decided to repaint his room? (oh that mischievous little boy...) Well I finally got around to re-doing his room! Now remember, I am not one of those people who makes her bed every morning, or even owns throw pillows, so just realize that this is as cute as it's gona get!

Peyton just loves tractors, so I took a roller and just rolled a road onto the wall and then attempted to paint on construction vehicles! It looks very amateurish but what does a 3 year old know??? He loves it!
And yes, I let my monkey jump on his bed!

And just so Ryker wouldn't feel left out, here is a picture of him and his bed. Taking a sweet afternoon nap so mom can blog...

Oh, Peyton!

Oh life with a 3 year old! Tonight I tucked Peyton into bed around 8:00, and I just now went in to check on him before I went to bed (9:30) this is what I found: him dead asleep, covers, pillow, blanket, and all.... on the floor! Then when I was moving him back to the bed, I found a (seriously) 3 week old banana under his bed. Do I seem like an absent parent? I mean, his room didn't stink or anything... I really am a clean person... although, this isn't the first time I have found food under his bed...

And just to prove I'm a crazy mother... the other day Peyton asked for pancakes for breakfast,
"sure!" I said " do you want chocolate chips in your pancakes?"
Peyton: "nope, jelly beans!!"
So I made him pancakes with jelly beans in them! They were actually pretty good...

Then to complete the morning, we made cookies. Here are some pics of Peyton licking the beaters.
He kept saying "holy cow mom! it is soooo good!"

Dierks Bentley concert!!

Holy yum! Dierks Bentley last night was so amazing, and he is so delicious to look at! We loved the Wendover concert hall, it was very nice and our seats were amazing. It was even more fun than I was hoping for!
We had such a fun getaway with our friends Jason and Canani!

What a good show! I loved that this concert hall was so small that every seat was good! I wish I would have taken a picture of the bathrooms at this place, they were unbelievable! I felt like I was peeing in a palace!! :)

Rock on!!

Easter Pictures

Easter Pictures of my cute boys! And while they may look fun, taking these pictures was not!
Here is the rundown:
2 baths. Feed Ryker, Ryker spits up on shirt, launder shirt, Ryker poops on shirt, launder shirt. Iron shirts, chicken nuggets in the car on the way to photo studio. Peyton makes a mess of face, refuses to let mom clean face. 1 grandma, 1 mom, 2 photo girls, 2 hours of crying and coaxing.... ta da... 3 pictures!!!
And in the end... 3 naps!

I'll say this- my life is certainly not boring!
